Since the last century, new fashion trends in Sri Lanka have brought the interest of the international fashion experts as well as the fashion-loving public from all across the globe. Fashion trends in Sri Lanka feature many distinctive elements like traditional rural wear to the modern urban styles. Many fashion accessories and Sri Lankan ethnic wear are also getting global recognition. Fashion shows held at this country’s capital city, Colombo, showcase both the indigenous and the foreign fashion styles which are slowly being followed by the population in the rural society as well as in the urban society.

Thus, it is not surprising to note that many people have started to embrace new styles and this in turn, is spreading gradually all over Sri Lanka and other parts of India.
